Youth Song Workshop

Always free, the Youth Song Workshop is a space for young creators aged 13-17 to share original music in a supportive and inspiring atmosphere.

Whether you have never played a note of music before or have already composed your own songs, if you are interested in using the language of music to express yourself, we welcome you.

FORMAT:

Introduction to the supportive listening and critique skills utilized in the YSW community
Short introductory lesson focusing on a different aspect of songcraft each month
Open mic-style song shares
Discussion

Although this is a free program, you must register using this form to receive the Zoom link. This ensures the safety of all participants. [Link coming soon.]

Creative warm-ups and introductory lesson (different each week)
Song shares
Semi-facilitated music-making time

BRING: Yourself, an instrument if you have one, a song to share if you have one, water to drink, something to sit on. Extra water and blankets will be provided.

LOCATION: We will meet in the Reid Park Festival Area in one of the shady spots near the fountain. Click here for a larger version of the map. The Festival Area is located between the Zoo and Reid Park. There is parking nearby.
